Tutelync ("we", "our", "us") is a coaching center management platform operated from Kerala, India. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our website (tutelync.com) and mobile application.

2. Information We Collect

a) Account Information

• Name, email address, and phone number (for account registration)
• Password (stored in encrypted/hashed form)
• Coaching center name, address, and district

b) Student Data (entered by coaching centers)

• Student name, date of birth, gender
• Parent/guardian name, phone number, and email
• School name and class information
• Attendance records
• Fee payment records
• Exam marks and results
• Student photos (optional)

c) Usage Data

• Login timestamps
• Device and browser information
• Pages visited within the application

d) Payment Information

• Subscription plan details
• Payment transactions are processed securely through Razorpay. We do not store credit/debit card numbers.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the Tutelync service
• To manage student attendance, fees, and exam records
• To send WhatsApp notifications to parents (attendance alerts, fee reminders, exam results) when enabled by the coaching center
• To process subscription payments
• To provide the parent portal for viewing student information
• To improve our service and fix technical issues

4. Data Storage & Security

• All data is stored on secure cloud servers (Supabase/PostgreSQL hosted on AWS, Asia-Pacific region)
• Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS
• Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text
• Access to student data is restricted to authorized users of the respective coaching center

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties, except:

• Razorpay — for processing subscription payments
• WhatsApp Business API (AiSensy) — for sending notifications to parents, only when enabled by the coaching center
• Supabase — for cloud database hosting and file storage
• Legal requirements — if required by Indian law or court order

6. Parent Portal

Parents can access their child's attendance, fee, and exam information through a unique token-based link shared by the coaching center. No login or personal data collection is required from parents to view this portal.

7. WhatsApp Messages

When a coaching center enables WhatsApp notifications, messages are sent to parent phone numbers provided by the center. These messages include attendance alerts, fee reminders, exam results, and announcements. Parents can request the coaching center to stop these messages at any time.

8. Data Retention

• Account data is retained as long as the account is active
• Student records are retained as long as the coaching center account exists
• If a coaching center deletes their account, all associated data (students, attendance, fees, exams) will be permanently deleted within 30 days

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data stored in the system
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Export your data (available on Growth and Pro plans)

10. Children's Privacy

Tutelync is a tool for coaching center administrators, not for direct use by children. Student data is entered and managed by the coaching center staff. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of Tutelync after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
